In late December, the Russians began massive attacks across Ukraine, targeting and damaging vital infrastructure sites and facilities, such as power plants, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, and cellular facilities. Since the attacks on vital facilities began, all regions of Ukraine have been forced to deal with electricity rationing. Residents of Uman say that in recent weeks there has been no regular electricity supply for most of the day. Immediately after the electricity and heating crisis began, the chairman of the Breslav Union in Uman, Rabbi Nathan Ben Nun, began extensive activity in a desperate attempt to purchase a suitable generator and heating system for the grave site of Rabbi Nachman of Breslav. The Breslav Union is in the midst of an intense race against time to procure and install the heating systems and an industrial generator that will supply the electricity and heating required during the cold winter months in the compound. These days, they have begun installing a central heating system in the grave site. In addition, a dedicated generator was ordered from abroad and will arrive in the coming days for the commemoration of our rabbi in Uman. [Gallery]
