The Commissioner praised the police officers who neutralized the terrorist: "The police officers acted as expected and as required of officers in the Israel Police."
Police Commissioner Major General Yaakov Shabtai spoke with the two police officers who neutralized today (Tuesday) the terrorist who carried out the car-ramming attack at the Kochav Yaakov intersection in Binyamin, in which an IDF fighter was injured.
The Commissioner praised the activities of the two police officers.
The Commissioner received a report about the attack during the Commissioners' Conference, where the police are hosting 45 delegations of Commissioners from 34 countries this week.
During the conference, he spoke with police officers David Yoel and Menashe Naftali from the Sha'i District and said: "You did an excellent job, your initial identification of a suspicious vehicle before you even knew about the incident and then the link to the incident itself and, in the end, a dead terrorist - that's what I want to see.".
The Commissioner then addressed the police activity at the scene and said: "I want to express my appreciation to the police for their efforts to make contact, their commitment to the mission, and their professionalism in ultimately eliminating the terrorist who carried out the attack. This is what we expect from our police officers. The police officers acted as expected and as required of police officers in the Israel Police. We will continue to carry out activities throughout the country, offensive activities to prevent and thwart as much as necessary and as much as possible. I want to wish a speedy recovery to the soldier who was injured in the attack.""
