On the way to the government: Religious Zionist Chairman Bezalel Smotrich and Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu met last night (Sunday) for about three hours as part of coalition negotiations between the parties to form a new government.

The meeting, which took place at the Ze'ev Citadel in Tel Aviv, was also attended by the negotiating teams of the Likud Party and Religious Zionism.

According to the Likud spokeswoman's statement, the meeting "took place in a good atmosphere and progress was made on all issues. The parties will meet again tomorrow with the aim of forming a right-wing government as soon as possible.".

Yesterday, Smotrich sounded reconciled and optimistic, when he addressed the national education conference of the Bnei Akiva Yeshivot and Ulpanot Center and Makor Rishon about attempts to form a coalition led by Netanyahu.

He said: "We are, God willing, after a clear victory for the right in the election campaign and in the midst of coalition negotiations, and I can tell you with complete confidence: With God's help, a true right-wing government will be established in the coming days.".

""There is significant progress in the negotiations, we have shown goodwill and a great deal of understanding so that we can form the government as soon as possible, and I believe that we are close to completing the important task.".
