Arbelich at the International Neurosurgeons Conference: 'By 2025, children will receive proton therapy here''

The 16th conference of the Asian-Australian Society for Oncological Neurosurgery is currently taking place in Jerusalem.

The Israeli chairman of the conference, Prof. Shlomi Constantini, director of the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Ichilov Hospital, invited President's Award recipient Yossi Arblich, chairman of the "For You" organization, along with Prof. Yosef Peres, president of the organization, to participate as guests of honor in a special session held on the topic of global breakthroughs in the field of proton radiation and pediatric neurosurgery.

Arblich said at the conference: "By 2025, children will be able to receive proton therapy in Israel.".

In addition to interim Prime Minister Yair Lapid, Shlomo Dovrat, one of the founders of the Carmel Ventures venture capital fund, and Nobel Prize winner Prof. Aharon Ciechanover, the conference will also feature dozens of neurosurgeons from nearly 60 countries in approximately 800 lectures spread over three days.

On the professional side, the conference will be attended by Prof. Sagi Harnof, Director of the Neurosurgery Department at Beilinson Hospital, Prof. Zvika Ram, Director of the Neurosurgery Unit at Ichilov Medical Center. Prof. Spector leads the Neurosurgery Center at Assuta Hospital in Tel Aviv, Prof. Lior Tsach, Director of the Neuroradiotherapy Unit, Ichilov Oncology Unit. Prof. Rachel Grossman, Deputy Director of the Neurosurgery Department and Director of the Brain Tumor Center at Ichilov Hospital, as well as internationally renowned physicians such as Prof. Helmut Bertalanffy, Director of the Hospital in Hanover, Germany, Dr. Eitan Taub, Director of the Hospital in Basel, Abraham Gordon, Director of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and Prof. Krishnakumar, Director of the Hospital in New Delhi.

Proton radiation is a type of external radiotherapy called particle therapy that can be used to treat cancer. The radiation is delivered with a beam of Protons Towards diseased tissue areas.
