The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office filed an indictment today (Sunday) with the city's Magistrate's Court against seven defendants, residents of Jerusalem and Beitar Illit, aged 19-26 - Menashe Mintzberg, Shimon Klafholtz, Nachman Fox, Avraham Yosef Margalit, Eliyahu Shraga Godelevsky, Shimon Zilber and Yehuda Sternfeld - after they broke into the work site for the development of the Jerusalem light rail line, about a month ago.

According to the indictment, while mass demonstrations were taking place near the work site for the development of the light rail line on Bar Ilan Street, the defendants entered the work site and sat down there in order to prevent the continuation of the development work.

The defendants did not leave the scene despite repeated calls from the police to evacuate the scene.

After some time, when the police's pleas were of no avail, the defendants were forcibly removed from the work site by police and arrested. After their arrest, two of the defendants - Mintzberg and Margalit - refused to identify themselves to police investigators.

The indictment charges the defendants with committing the offenses of trespassing in order to commit a crime and obstructing a police officer in the performance of his duty.
