End of news: Journalist Avi Mimran is retiring from Radio Kol Barama after six years.
Mimran announced today to the radio management that he is quitting his job at the station, and will end his position at the end of the year.
Mimran, 36, was one of the founders of Kol Barama Radio in 2009, served as the program director and host of the main edition, and led the radio to record ratings.
In the past year, after the passing of the late Rabbi Yosef, and following the rift in the Sephardic community, much friction arose between Mimran and the radio management.
It is currently unclear where he is headed, but he will likely join the competing station 'Kol Hai'.
A statement from Kool Bermah said: "We thank Avi Mimran, the program director and presenter of the edition, for his years of activity and important contribution to the station and its listeners, and wish him success in his future endeavors.".
Avi Mimran said: "I thank the radio management for years of joint and successful work, I feel grateful to the station's owners and managers, and I thank the station's listeners for their support over the past six years.".
