Investigators at the Petah Tikva police station this week arrested a synagogue attendant, a resident of the city, on suspicion of committing serious offenses against minors.

The arrest was made after police investigators opened a sensitive undercover investigation about a week ago upon receiving a complaint regarding suspected serious crimes committed against a minor in recent years. Several days ago, police officers at the station arrested the suspect, 42, on suspicion of committing the acts. His arrest was extended in a court in Petah Tikva until Sunday. The investigation revealed that the suspect had harmed a girl in a synagogue in the city, where, as stated, he served as a collector. Today, the Petah Tikva police received additional complaints from two minors who are residents of the city, whom the suspect had also harmed for several years - in exchange for a financial payment. "The Israel Police calls on additional victims who were allegedly harmed in a similar way by the suspect to come to the police station nearest their home and file a complaint accordingly," the police say.
