Tragedy in Petah Tikva: A 13-year-old boy riding an electric scooter was killed after being hit by a car

A 13-year-old boy riding an electric scooter was killed this evening (Monday) after being hit by a vehicle in Petah Tikva.

Rescue forces called to the scene found him in critical condition at the scene and performed CPR on him, then evacuated him to the hospital while CPR continued. He was pronounced dead in the emergency room of the Beilinson Medical Center.

MDA paramedic Elad Pollak said: "The child was lying on the side of the road near the sidewalk, unconscious and suffering from very severe multi-system damage. We immediately began medical treatment, put him in an intensive care unit and evacuated him to the hospital while performing CPR while his condition was critical.""

Yossi Swed, a paramedic at the United Hatzalah: "We provided assistance at the scene to the electric scooter rider, who is suffering from multi-system damage as a result of an accident involving a private vehicle.".

Neria Hajabi, a senior paramedic at United Hatzalah: "After the initial aid we gave him at the scene, he was taken by intensive care unit to Beilinson Hospital in serious condition and unconscious.".

Haim Otmazgin, commander of the special units at ZAKA: "This is a young boy about 13 years old who was riding an electric scooter and was hit by a vehicle. When we arrived at the scene, we saw the scooter crushed under the vehicle, and the boy was lying unconscious nearby with multiple systemic injuries.

""MDA teams treated and evacuated him in critical condition while performing CPR to the hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors in the emergency room were forced to declare him dead. ZAKA volunteers from the Sharon area are handling the collection of findings at the difficult scene.".

Beilinson Medical Center announced after updating the family: "Beilinson Hospital sadly announces that the 13-year-old boy has been pronounced dead. All resuscitation efforts were in vain. The hospital shares the family's grief.".

The police said: Sharon District traffic inspectors opened an investigation upon receiving a report of an accident involving two vehicles and a scooter at the Pencil Intersection in Petah Tikva.

As a result of the accident, the scooter rider - a 13-year-old boy - was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva. Both drivers were detained for questioning by Sharon Region traffic inspectors. The investigation is ongoing.
