3 Yeshiva Students Brutally Attacked in Jerusalem - Here's Why the Arabs Were Released

Brutal attack on Jerusalem roads: Three yeshiva students were attacked by Arabs near the Neve Yaakov neighborhood in the city. The attack involved the use of pepper spray and iron rods, and only luckily did not end in loss of life. The police arrested several suspects - but released them on the grounds that the attack was not carried out on a racist basis. Attorney Haim Bleicher of Mehonu, who represents the yeshiva students, appealed to the prosecutor's office with a request to re-investigate the attackers, and also to file serious indictments against them for an attack on a nationalistic basis. My clients, young 18-year-olds who study at a yeshiva in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood, were driving towards the city center, and as they turned left from Neve Yaakov Boulevard onto the Musa Peled road, three vehicles appeared behind them in which members of minorities were sitting. "One vehicle stuck to them from the right, almost hitting them several times. Later, after the road widened, additional vehicles closed in on them from the left and in front," the letter sent to the district commander described. The vehicles stuck dangerously close to the boys' vehicle, until they caused the Jewish driver to stop. "At that time, a minority man got out of one of the vehicles and approached the vehicle and tried to open the door next to the driver. And when he failed, he opened the door from behind, and sprayed a large amount of pepper spray from point blank range directly in front of my clients. "One of the young men who was sitting in the back seat fled to the other side of the vehicle, and then discovered to his horror that another minority man was hitting the windshield with a hammer, shattering the windshield. Meanwhile, the first attacker returned to the vehicle to get an assault weapon, and the occupants of the vehicle took advantage of the moment to flee on foot to the intersection below. "As a result of the severe attack on my client, who was sitting in the back of the vehicle with the gas on, he suffered severe respiratory damage, became dizzy, vomited, and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. In addition, the rioters entered the vehicle and stole a wallet, credit cards, and cash totaling 2,750 shekels from it and from the young men's bags." 3 According to Attorney Bleicher, serious indictments should be filed against the terrorists and action should be taken to keep them in custody until the end of the proceedings.
