
Ofer Hadad, a journalist for News 12, one of the media's senior news anchors, was chosen this morning (Tuesday) to host the World Bible Quiz, replacing Avshalom Kor, who announced his retirement.
Hadad has been a journalist for Channel 12 for about 15 years. He grew up in Rishon LeZion and was educated at Bnei Akiva and religious Zionist educational institutions, from where he continued his studies at a Heder yeshiva, served in the Intelligence Corps and in the defense establishment.
He studied at Bar Ilan University and the Hebrew University.
At the news company, he held a variety of reporting and reporting positions, including coverage of religions and the ultra-Orthodox, settlement, and more.
He currently hosts the program 'Three with Ofer Hadad'.
Ofer Hadad said: "The World Bible Quiz is a Jewish and Israeli institution. On a personal level, it is a tremendous honor for me to host one of the central and beloved symbols of Independence Day, and an equally great honor to step into the shoes of the mythical host Avshalom Kor, who has become synonymous with this status. We will strive to meet the task with honor.".
This year, the World Bible Quiz for Youth will be held under the theme "A Man Who Has the Spirit in Him" and will deal with leaders whose actions have left a mark to this day.
35 students from different countries around the world are expected to participate.
