Fell or stabbed? 17-year-old Haredi moderately injured in Jerusalem's Ramot neighborhood

A 17-year-old Haredi boy was moderately to seriously injured this evening (Wednesday) in a violent incident on Yehezkel Kaifman Street in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Rescue forces called to the scene provided him with initial medical treatment and evacuated him to Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center with penetrating injuries.

Dr. Aryeh Yaffe, a volunteer physician at United Hatzalah: "This is a boy who arrived at his home in moderate to serious condition. With the assistance of other paramedics, I provided him with first aid and then he was taken in an intensive care unit to the surgery department at Shaare Zedek - where I updated them by phone about the nature of his injuries.".

The police said that a report was received by the Israel Police regarding a young man with penetrating injuries to his upper body in the Ramot neighborhood in Jerusalem.

Police forces arrived at the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the incident, while collecting evidence.

Initial investigation indicates that this is a criminal incident.

The young man claimed to the rescue forces that he fell on a sharp iron fence.
