Yair Netanyahu was scheduled to appear in court today (Tuesday) for a hearing on a defamation lawsuit filed against him by Dana Kasdi, but he did not appear.

Attorney Yossi Cohen submitted a sick note to the judge on his behalf.

According to a report by Or Ravid on Channel 12, the court ruled that because he was absent from the hearing, Netanyahu will pay 2,000 shekels.

The hearing was postponed to January 27, 2022 at 8:30 AM in Kfar Saba. Court Judge Ronen Peleg warned: "Both sides must appear" - sending a clear message to Netanyahu.

Attorney Ron Levintel, representing the plaintiff, said: "All we can do is wish Yair Netanyahu a speedy recovery and good health from his sudden illness that struck him last night ahead of this morning's hearing. I hope he will be strong and sound for our next hearing because we want to manage this case, and truly manage it with people who come and explain their posts on social media. There are many postponements, many illnesses, but we will eventually reach the final destination.".

The young woman claims that Yair Netanyahu attributed personal ties to her with Benny Gantz.

Kasdi's lawsuit against Netanyahu was filed in August 2020. The amount of the lawsuit is 500,000 shekels and it spans more than 120 pages.
