One of the suspects is a lawyer and Hakhrush's neighbor.
The investigation revealed that the suspects arrived at the home of Chief Inspector Jamal Hakrush on the night of September 10 in the suspect's car from Haifa, when the second suspect, a resident of Kana, got out of the car while masked and opened fire from an automatic weapon towards the parking lot gate of the house, causing damage to it.
The Northern Command and Shin Bet investigators carried out a long series of intelligence and operational activities that led to the identification and arrest of the suspects, within a short time, by the Northern Command, Shin Bet, and Border Guard fighters. One of the suspects was arrested at his home and the other when he returned to Israel from vacation.
In light of the investigation's findings, which indicated that the shooting was not carried out on a nationalistic basis, the Shin Bet ended its part of the investigation and it continued to be conducted by the Israel Police.
The investigation materials compiled by the police were transferred to the Northern District Attorney's Office, which today filed a prosecutor's statement against the suspects.
In accordance with the police request, the Nazareth Magistrate's Court extended the suspects' detention until Thursday.
