According to the findings, the father approached the room and the son took a knife from the kitchen, followed him and stabbed him several times in the upper body.

Police forces who were called to the scene arrived within minutes and began searching for the suspect who had fled the apartment - and the police located him shortly after in a nearby building, and he was arrested for questioning.

Additional police forces, including police investigators from the Beit Shemesh station and forensic investigators from the Jerusalem District, arrived at the scene and began conducting initial investigative activities, while collecting findings and testimonies at the scene.

At the same time, medical teams pronounced the father dead, after resuscitation efforts and medical treatment he received at the scene.

An initial investigation conducted by police at the scene indicates that an argument broke out between the father and son during Shabbat. At one point, and under circumstances that are still being investigated by police, the son stabbed the father several times in the upper body with a kitchen knife.

The investigation of the case was assigned to the Zion Region Crime Fighting Unit (YLF).

Tomorrow, the police are expected to bring the suspect's son to court, where they will request an extension of his detention to continue the investigation.

MDA said that the report of the stabbing was received at the 101 hotline at 11:41. MDA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene provided initial medical care to the injured man, which included CPR, but were forced to declare him dead within a relatively short time.

MDA paramedic Muhammad Pawaka said: "When we arrived at the scene, we joined the police forces who led us to an apartment in the residential building. The injured man was lying unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, with a bleeding wound on his body. We provided him with medical treatment and performed CPR, but his injury was fatal and in the end we were forced to declare him dead.".

This is the second murder in Beit Shemesh in just about a week: Last Friday, Tamar Masandilov, a 52-year-old resident of the city, was stabbed to death. Police officers called to the scene arrested her son, Shimon Stern, 27, who confessed to murdering her with a kitchen knife and stabbing her several times in the neck and body.
