The Emirati Air Force Commander was received with an honor guard led by the Israeli Air Force Commander, Major General Amikam Norkin, at Palmachim Base.

The air force commanders discussed developing cooperation and strengthening ties between the air forces.

Major General Amikam Norkin: "I thank you, Commander of the Emirati Air Force, for your willingness to come to Israel. This is a historic and important day for cooperation between the air forces.".

IDF sources say that as early as next year and in subsequent exercises, representatives from many foreign countries will arrive to participate in the exercises.

According to the sources, the uniqueness of the 'Blue Flag' exercise is that it is a large-scale international air exercise with a great impact on the strategic-international aspect of the State of Israel.

""The reality in the world of military aviation has changed a lot. More and more unmanned aircraft, more and more UAVs, remotely operated aircraft with an increasingly shorter response time for the enemy, especially in Syria.".

""The current exercise is the largest and most advanced exercise to date, involving eight countries that practice combining 4th generation aircraft with 5th generation aircraft such as the F-35, which expands the capabilities of the Israeli Air Force on the battlefield, while engaging in aerial cooperation.".

According to them, the participation of the powerful aircraft in the exercise poses a significant challenge for the various aircraft participating in it - they are required to deal with advanced threats when the powerful aircraft flies as a red force, an attacking force, against the other aircraft.

The exercises are defensive and offensive exercises with a dedicated enemy day squadron from the Air Force, Squadron 115, the "Red Squadron", which is also routinely designated to challenge and train the various squadrons of the force to deal with possible scenarios in the various arenas and advanced aerial threats, which for the first time also include the F-35 aircraft that operate on enemy day.

Preparations for the exercise lasted about ten months, first through online dialogue between the participating countries, and then representatives of the countries came to Israel and together built diverse training scenarios for the exercise.

During the first week of the exercise, the various air forces underwent day and night flights, dealing with increasing threats each day, while setting a greater challenge for the next day of the exercise.

Approximately 1,500 participants are taking part in the exercise, and representatives from Romania, Finland, South Korea, Australia, Japan, the Netherlands, Croatia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates came to learn about its outline.
