The hospital reported that Kahalani is conscious and his life is not in danger at this stage.
Kahalani, 77, is the recipient of the Medal of Valor from the Yom Kippur War, the Medal of Excellence from the Six-Day War, and the President's Medal for his contributions to the State of Israel.
During the Six-Day War, he was seriously injured and suffered burns on approximately 60% of his body surface. He was hospitalized for about a year and underwent 12 plastic surgeries.
Despite this, he returned to the battlefield in the Yom Kippur War and fought in the historic battle in the "Valley of Weeping.".
Over the years, he engaged in public activity on behalf of IDF soldiers and fought for international recognition of the Golan Heights.
Former Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is vacationing in the US, said: "I pray for the recovery of Avigdor Kahalani - Hero of Israel. A full and speedy recovery.".
