''Last warning': This is how criminal gangs extort business owners in the Negev

The protection of Bedouin criminal gangs in the south: In recent days, a police investigation into a case of extortion through threats against a business owner in Be'er Sheva was concluded. Do you want to travel? הפרשה נחשפה כאשר הקורבן סירב לשלם לכנופיה את דמי החסות ונשאר לשמור על העסק גם בשעות הלילה. על פי החקירה של המשטרה, נשלחו אל בעל העסק הודעות כתובות בעלות תוכן מאיים. בהודעות, שהגיעו לקורבן באמצעות הטלפון הנייד וגם בפתק שהונח על חלון מכוניתו -  איימו חברי הכנופייה לפגוע בו ובבני משפחתו, בטענה כי הוא חייב כספי 'דמי חסות'. בהודעות נכתב, בין היתר: "או שאתה משלם או שאתה לא נשאר בבאר שבע. יש לך 24 שעות להחזיר תשובה". בהודעה אחרת נכתב: "פעמיים היה לך מזל בגלל הילדים שהיו איתך, אני נותן לך עד יום ראשון". על הפתק שהוצמד לחלון הרכב של הקורבן נכתב: "אני מזהיר אותך בפעם האחרונה, יכולתי להגיע לחדר שלך". עם התקדמות החקירה של ימ"ר נגב נעצרו מספר חשודים ונאספו ראיות לכאורה נעצר החשוד בסחיטה: תושב תראבין בן 24, שנעצר לפני כשבועיים. החשוד נחקר ומעצרו הוארך מעת לעת. עם תם מלאכת החקירה, הוגשה היום (שלישי) כנגד החשוד הצהרת תובע לקראת הגשת כתב אישום. מעצרו של החשוד הוארך עד מחר ה-20.7. Chief of Police Arik Turgeman: "This is a serious incident in which, according to suspicion, a business owner was blackmailed while threats were made against him. The Israel Police attaches great importance to exposing and handling such incidents, and during the investigation, the maximum resources were used to locate the suspect and bring him to arrest while fulfilling the law. We appeal to the public to report and contact the nearest police station or hotline 100 in any similar case, and we will work to fully investigate his complaint.".
