Ronen Cohen, 51 years old, married and father of 4, served for over 18 years in senior positions in the Ministry of Housing, among other things, he was involved in leading housing solutions for new immigrants.

Cohen began his career in the public sector as Director of the Individual and Exceptions Division at the Ministry of Housing. For the past 8 years, he has served as Deputy General Manager and Head of the Public Housing Assistance Department at the ministry.

Cohen holds a master's degree in national security and political science with honors from the National Security College, and a bachelor's degree in criminology and sociology from Bar-Ilan University.

Recently, Minister Pnina Tamano Sheta was asked to head the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption in the face of the many challenges facing the ministry, primarily an increase in the opening of aliyah files and high aliyah projections among new immigrants.

The government will soon approve the appointment, and he is expected to replace Habib Katsav, who has extensive experience in the ministry and has served as acting director general in recent years.
