The Prime Minister's son in a battle for his privacy: Yair Netanyahu threatened yesterday to take legal action against the 'Free Israel' association, after the association's activists used a photo in which he is seen with his Norwegian partner, Sandra Leikanger, without his permission.

According to a report on Channel 2, "Free Israel" has launched a campaign starring Netanyahu and his partner - whose main message is the right of every person to marry whomever they want. This is in response to the assimilation wedding that shocked Israel.

But the young Netanyahu did not like the campaign starring him and he responded firmly: "I demand that you take down my photo, which you are using without my permission. It is a private photo from Facebook and therefore you are open to lawsuits," he wrote to the chairman of 'Free Israel.' "I expect it to be taken down today, especially since I oppose and disagree with the content of the campaign.".

Two hours later, Netanyahu sent another message, this time more focused: "If this doesn't come down in the next hour, I will begin legal proceedings.".

Indeed, a short time later the campaign was taken off the air.

Mickey Gitzin, CEO of Free Israel, told Hadashot 2: "We used his picture to convey a positive message - especially in light of recent events. A threat of lawsuit over a picture previously published on gossip sites is a bit disappointing.".

About six months ago, the Norwegian media first reported on Netanyahu's relationship with Leikanger, a student studying in Israel. According to the report, the proud prime minister revealed his son's relationship in a conversation with the Norwegian prime minister.
