What is a promise from United Torah Judaism worth? The party's chairman, MK Moshe Gafni, intends to participate in the News 12 conference, despite the anger among the Haredi public over the 'investigation of the combinations' that was broadcast on 'Ulpan Shishi'.
In Israel, speeding is the norm: Why do we drive fast?
Just yesterday (Wednesday), the United Torah Judaism faction convened for a special session in the Knesset, at the end of which it announced: "The faction will sever ties with reporters and media outlets that publish false and biased 'investigations' against the Haredi public" - and already Gafni is doing the opposite.
Right-winger Shimon Riklin tweeted on his Twitter account: "Hello to MK Moshe Gafni. How many buckets of Channel 12 scum do you have to pour on the public you represent to announce that you are not coming to the conference he is organizing? Or you don't really represent the Haredim and have gotten used to being a servile slave. If you don't announce that you are boycotting the Channel 12 conference, you are not worthy of being a public servant.".
Media personality Yinon Magal tweeted: "A few facts 1. News 12 defamed the Haredim in a false and biased article 2. United Torah Judaism announced that anyone who lies about the Haredim will be boycotted 3. Gafni is going to participate in the News 12 conference in the coming days 4. Many Haredim tell me that they are considering voting for Smotritz this time.".
Yaakov Morgenbasser, Gafni's spokesman, tweeted in response to Magal and Riklin: "The decision of the 'United Torah Judaism' faction was to boycott the 'reporters' who did the false and distorted 'investigation' on Ben Gurion Airport. Oh, and nothing more! With blessings.".
However, quite a few surfers reminded him: "The decision of the 'United Torah Judaism' faction was also to boycott 'media outlets' that publish false 'investigations' against the Haredi public.".
