The President of the Council of Torah Scholars, Maran Rosh Ha-Yeshiva Ha-Giorg Edelstein, delivered rare and poignant remarks on the duty of every Haredi to serve as an example of observing the rules of caution in maintaining health. This is so that "people may say, 'Look at the actions of a Torah scholar, how beautiful his ways are and how well-adjusted his actions are. Blessed is he who has learned Torah, 'Blessed is he who is Haredi,' and God forbid the other way around." The full text: There is a Gemara in Yom Ha-Ma'am - while a person reads and changes, engages in Torah and speaks calmly with people, he behaves well, so what do people say about him? Blessed is he who has learned Torah, this is the sanctification of God. Blessed is his father and mother who taught him Torah, so-and-so who has learned Torah, how beautiful his ways are, how well-adjusted his actions are, Israel in whom I will glory. But if a person engages in Torah, but speaks unkindly to people, what do people say about him? Woe to those who have learned Torah. Blessed is he who has not learned Torah, this is blasphemy. Therefore, this concerns us, the Haredi, if We behave properly, with caution in observing the health rules, not to get infected or infect others - then they say, 'Blessed is he who is Haredi.' But if not, then they say, uh... the Haredim... whoever is Haredi is... have you seen? It's blasphemy. Therefore, there is a special obligation to behave fairly so that there is no concern that it will appear as if he is disregarding health care, to sanctify God in the leadership, so that they say, 'Blessed is he who is Haredi.'.
