According to a report by Kan News reporter Yaara Shapira, in one of her posts she called Gaza "a ghetto under brutal occupation.".

In another post, she criticized the Tel Aviv Municipality for choosing to light the city hall in the colors of the Lebanese flag, while not lighting it in the colors of the "Palestine" flag.

In a post she wrote about Ali, the 13-year-old boy Abu Aliya, who was killed in clashes with security forces in Samaria, she noted that he "went out to defend his basic right to defend his land and his freedom.".

Maraana also expressed support for the hunger strike of administrative detainee Maher al-Akhras, and she calls Israel "ugly.".

According to the report in 'Kan News', Mara'ena resigned from the Meretz party in 2009 due to the fact that Meretz did not condemn Operation Cast Lead in Gaza.

Responses from Maraena and the Labor Party have not yet been received.

Amar Bar-Lev, who was elected second in the Labor primary yesterday, addressed Mara'ena's statement about Gaza this morning and said: "I don't know her or this statement.".
