A day after winning the majority of votes in the runoff for Labor Party leadership, MK Merav Michaeli is demanding this evening (Monday) that two party members who serve as ministers resign from the government. This was reported on Channel 12.

MK Michaeli refused to join Netanyahu's government with her two colleagues and remained in the opposition within the party.

""My first decision as Labor Party Chairwoman is, of course, that Labor leaves the Gantz-Netanyahu government, which is corrupt and the worst in the history of the country," the new chairwoman said. "I have informed Amir Peretz and Itzik Shmuli that they must resign from their positions in the government immediately.".

Outgoing Chairman Amir Peretz serves as Minister of Economy and Industry, while Itzik Shmuli serves as Minister of Welfare and Economic Services.

The two are considered part of the Blue and White bloc in the government and actually make decisions in coordination with party chairman Gantz.

Shmuli has already announced that he will not run for Labor, and Peretz announced his retirement from the Knesset.

It should be noted that Michaeli herself did not implement the movement's decisions, remaining in the opposition.
