This morning his condition deteriorated, and doctors had no choice but to declare him dead. The Barachiah family are longtime residents of the Bukharim neighborhood. His funeral is expected to take place today at 2:00 PM at Har Hamenuchot in Givat Shaul, Jerusalem, in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health. A special statement issued by the police stated: The Israel Police and the police rabbinate share in the deep sorrow of the Chief Rabbi of the Police, Rabbi Rami Barachiah, following the passing of his father, Rabbi Baruch Neriah Barachiah, a man of kindness and a great rabbi, who was honored to be a close friend of Maran Rabbi Ovadia for many years.
