The Ministry of Health announced this morning (Monday) that 1,230 coronavirus carriers were diagnosed yesterday in 37,638 new tests that were performed - a relatively low number. The percentage of positive cases was 3.3 compared to 3.9 on Saturday. The infection rate is now 1.24. The number of active patients in the country is 12,776. The number of people hospitalized in hospitals is 567, of whom 331 are in serious condition, including 101 in critical condition and 112 on ventilators. 75 patients are hospitalized in moderate condition. The number of people who have died from the disease so far is 2,917. The report by the Military Intelligence Information and Knowledge Center published this morning states: "The increase in the number of new confirmed cases is worsening - more than 1,300 people are infected on average per week, and this is alongside an increase in the rate of positive tests, despite the increase in the scope of tests in recent weeks." Intelligence officials are recognizing that the number of new patients in serious condition has increased in recent days. This is an indicator that they say is "too late to respond, but it also seems to have begun to rise consistently." Following the change made last week in the way authorities determine their zones: 28 cities are now defined as red and 37 as orange. Afula has become red, as have Ma'alot Tarshiha, Rama, and Ka'biya-Tabash-Khajajra. Arad and Kiryat Gat have changed color from yellow to green, while Dimona, Kfar Saba, Rishon LeZion, and Kiryat Shmona have become yellow. The Corona Cabinet is expected to convene at 4:00 PM to decide on the steps required in light of the situation, after the cabinet meeting held yesterday ended without a decision, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying: "We can wait 24 hours." A decision was made: It was determined that the outline of malls, markets, and museums will be extended by 48 hours, ending Tuesday at midnight - This is to allow the continuation of activities in the meantime.
