Israel's ambassador to Belgium, Emmanuel Nachshon, accuses the local newspaper 'Brussels Times' of anti-Semitism.

This is due to the publication of a photo of an ultra-Orthodox man in a news article whose caption refers to the global death toll from Corona.

""There are more than 1.1 million deaths from Corona in the world. Why did you choose to put a picture of an Orthodox Jew? It is unpleasant and unnecessary," the ambassador wrote.

According to a report by Israel Hayom, the Belgian website published a general article on the coronavirus situation in the world, but even though the number of Jewish deaths in the pandemic worldwide is negligible compared to the overall death toll, the newspaper's editors actually put a picture of a young Haredi man from the Western Wall on the cover.

Nachshon, who has been fighting anti-Semitic phenomena in Belgium, was outraged by the choice of image.

In a tweet on his Twitter account, Nachshon called on the editors to replace the photo.

The Israeli embassy in Brussels added: "This is how anti-Semitism is spread.".
