The commander of the 98th Division, Brigadier General Ofer Winter, removed from his post the company commander from the Duvdevan unit who violated quarantine, prayed with soldiers in a closed place - and did not even tell the truth in the epidemiological investigation. The company commander was exposed to a confirmed coronavirus patient, violated quarantine, and as a result, 27 soldiers in the unit were infected with the virus. 'Kan News' reporter Roy Sharon reported that after the commander's deputy contracted coronavirus, the commander entered quarantine, which he violated on Yom Kippur, when he prayed with his soldiers in the synagogue on the base. It later turned out that he himself contracted coronavirus and caused dozens of additional soldiers to be infected. The IDF viewed the incident seriously and, as mentioned, the company commander was removed from his post. An IDF spokesman: "After an investigation, the division commander accepted the brigade commander's recommendation to remove him from his post.".
