In preparation for the holiday of Sukkot, the police held warning conversations with leaders and rabbis in the Haredi community, demanding that they not hold Simchat Beit Hashoeva events alongside mass 'tishim' during the holiday.

According to a report in Kan News, the police announced that enforcement will be strict during the holiday, and unlike Yom Kippur, it will also be carried out within the ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods.

Police officers will be instructed to disperse gatherings that violate the guidelines and issue fines if necessary.

Until the holiday arrives, the police will continue to focus on what they define as "smart enforcement," which will be carried out while in motion and mainly using motorcycles.

From the start of the holiday, enforcement will return to the previous format of a wide deployment of checkpoints in the city and on intercity roads.

Approximately 7,000 police officers and 1,000 soldiers will participate in the operation, and 38 checkpoints will be deployed throughout the country.

The police say they will conduct a situation assessment in accordance with government decisions regarding the continuation of essential business operations during the Hol HaMoed period.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the Lithuanian community, Rabbi Kanievsky and Rabbi Edelstein, were photographed instructing the public on how to conduct themselves during the holiday.

Rabbi Edelstein made it clear that it is forbidden to host or be hosted on Sukkot, while the Rabbi determined that coronavirus tests must be performed even during the holiday - since this is a matter of life protection.
