
A 35-year-old woman, a resident of central Israel who is not known to the police, was killed this morning (Thursday) on Highway 20 near the Holon Interchange.
The police estimate that the explosion was caused by a bomb placed under the vehicle, containing about half a kilogram of explosives.

Unfortunately, we have no choice but to wait for the driver of the vehicle to be pronounced dead at the scene due to the nature of the severe injuries she suffered.".

MDA emergency medical personnel, Neriah Hagavi and Oral Toledano, said: "We received a report of a car explosion. We arrived at the scene quickly and saw the car on fire and a man lying nearby, without a pulse and not breathing, with burns on his body. We performed medical examinations. The injury was very serious and we were forced to declare him dead.".
The police said that an initial investigation indicates that the explosion was caused by a criminally motivated explosive device.
Large police forces from the Tel Aviv District, including investigators from the MZF and police saboteurs, worked to isolate the scene and eliminate suspicion of further risk, along with collecting evidence to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Tel Aviv District Commander, Chief of Staff Haim Sargaroff, conducted a situation assessment with Ayalon Police Chief, Chief of Staff Daniel Hadad, and all the commanders at the scene, during which the investigation was assigned to the Tel Aviv Police Chief.
Shai Romano and Hillel Hamawi, heads of ZAKA teams handling the scene: "The ZAKA center rushed us to a difficult scene on Highway 20. As soon as we arrived at the scene, we saw a completely burned-out vehicle with a lifeless body of a woman next to it.
""With the assistance of additional ZAKA volunteers, we operated at the difficult scene alongside the Israel Police's sabotage forces, and after fully clearing the scene, we collected the numerous findings that were spread over a wide area and on the sides of the road.".
The body was transferred for further treatment and investigation to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine.
