In just three weeks, three members of one family from Moshav Ahisamekh died from the coronavirus: The father, Eliyahu Shamaka, 77, was hospitalized after suffering complications from the disease. But a short time later, Eliyahu's two sons, Rahamim, 58, and Avraham, 53, were also hospitalized in rooms adjacent to their father.
All three died in less than a month, due to complications from the virus.
In an interview with 'First Edition' on Channel 12, Sister Galit said: "When the selichot started, my father said that at least he wanted to be at the selichot, after six months of not being in the synagogue. He kept the rules, but it turned out that there were two confirmed cases and unfortunately it was already too late. My brother was infected, my father was infected, and several other worshippers in the synagogue.".

After the death of her father, the late Eliyahu, the father of the family, Galit devoted herself entirely to prayers and encouragement for the recovery of her two brothers: "Everyone who called to comfort me, I simply asked them, I don't have time right now to cry for my father, with all the pain, to pray for my brothers.
""Avraham was in a better state at first, he even told me, 'I'm being released in two days.' And suddenly, after Dad passed away, he just collapsed.".
Three family members did not have underlying illnesses, as Galit testified: "Apart from diabetes, they had no underlying illness, they were completely healthy people, there was no expectation at all, I didn't think it would end like this.".
Nava Segev, a family friend, said on her Facebook page: "Third funeral in less than a month, 'Corona' victims from the same family. Leaving Shiva and entering Shiva.".
