Suspected hit-and-run on Highway 6: A 6-year-old boy was found lying injured on the side of the road in serious condition.

A 6-year-old boy was found this evening (Sunday) lying on the side of the road on Highway 6, seriously injured. The child was rushed to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer for treatment. The MDA spokesperson said: "At 8:46 PM, a report was received at the MDA 101 hotline in the Yarkon region about a child lying injured on the side of Highway 6 near the Eyal Interchange heading south. MDA medics and paramedics are providing medical treatment and are transferring a 6-year-old boy to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer in serious condition with multiple systemic injuries." MDA paramedic Ayoub Rabia said: "When we arrived at the scene, civilians signaled us to stop and led us to the child who was lying on the side of the road, conscious and suffering from severe multiple systemic injuries. We provided him with initial medical treatment on the scene and evacuated him to the hospital in serious and stable condition." The police said: "The Israel Police received a report of a minor, about 7, injured on the side of Highway 6 near the Eyal Interchange heading south. The minor was taken to Tel Hashomer Hospital for medical treatment, with his condition described by medical officials as serious. The circumstances of the incident are being examined. An initial investigation by Sharon Region police indicates that the child was at his home in Jaljulia with his brother, when he suddenly left the house and disappeared. The family lives a few meters from Highway 6.
