I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the man in the picture, whose name is Simcha Fabian. He is the man who opened the door to the world of joy and happiness for me.
We performed together a lot, and as a young, beginning singer, without a car yet, he would make sure to drive me home with his car or arrange for a driver.
On one of the trips back with him from an event, I asked him, after knowing that his wife was abroad: Who is looking after the children?
He answered me: "I don't have children, but I will have them"...
I will never forget the embarrassment and silence that prevailed in the car after his answer.
Some time passed, I continued on my musical path, and Simcha, among other things, was appointed advisor to the Minister of Health due to his involvement in charitable matters in the field of medicine.
And indeed it was so.
After eighteen years of marriage, Simcha and his wife were separated by a trio - two daughters and a son.
At the moving wedding celebration, Simcha asked for the microphone, and explained to me that sentence from the car - "I'll have more children" - and said as his voice choked with tears:
Once, when he passed by the Lubavitcher Rebbe at a "dollar distribution" and asked for a blessing for "living and viable seed," the Rebbe gave him three more dollars - and said: "This is for the children.".
The Rebbe said, and Simcha as a Hasid did not dispute.
Tonight, as we celebrate the wedding anniversary of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin - Simcha is marrying off the first girl of the miraculous trio, in an emotional and well-attended wedding in Kfar Chabad.
We wish the dear couple a long life and endless blessings.
