Another Hamas drone that took off from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory this evening [Thursday] was intercepted by the Air Force. The unmanned aerial vehicle entered Israeli airspace and when it reached the skies over the Ashkelon area, a Patriot missile was fired at it.

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for the incident, describing the plane as an 'Ababil 1 aircraft'.

On Monday of this week, a similar incident occurred when an unmanned aerial vehicle, taking off from the Gaza Strip, entered Israeli airspace.

The drone was intercepted over the coast of Ashdod and was also carried out using a Patriot missile. Navy forces were deployed to conduct searches and find the remains of the drone. The interception triggered an alarm that sounded in the city of Ashdod.
