For Passover, the Minister of Social Affairs and the Director General of National Insurance decided to advance the payment of some allowances, in order to "make preparations for the holiday easier" • But if you are counting on child allowances, you are in for a disappointment: This will only happen on the seventh evening of Passover - when the banks are closed

On the occasion of Passover and the Druze holiday of Nabi Shuaib, the Minister of Welfare and Social Services, MK Meir Cohen, and the Director General of the National Insurance Institute, Prof. Shlomo Mor Yosef, decided to advance the payment date of some of the benefits this month.

The National Insurance Institute stated that the advance payment of benefits is intended to make it easier for the population to prepare for the holiday.

But from an examination we conducted, it turns out that only income support benefits for those reporting to the employment service, as well as unemployment benefits, were brought forward to the 10th of the month, while all other benefits, especially child benefits, will be paid after the holiday.

Child benefits will be deposited into your account as usual, on the 20th of the month, right on the seventh evening of Passover, when banks are closed.

Some of the allowances were brought forward from the 28th of the month to the 24th of the month, in order to make things easier for Druze citizens, who are celebrating Nabi Shuaib.

In response to the question Haredim10, The National Insurance Institute said that it is not possible to advance the payment of benefits by more than a few days. "The payments are based on the National Insurance contributions that every citizen pays, and they only come in on the 20th of the month. We cannot pay without receiving the National Insurance contributions.".

The National Insurance Institute also says that advancing all benefits will actually harm beneficiaries who will remain without any benefits for about a month and a half, until the May payments.

The institution did not explain why they preferred to prioritize income security and unemployment benefits, rather than child benefits, which apply to all citizens of the country.

It should be noted that in 2011, Esther Dominisny, who served as the Director General of the National Insurance Institute at the time, discovered that the National Insurance Institute had emergency reserves of 145 billion shekels.
