Like in fairy tales: A family from Morocco lived in a cave for 10 years, without water, electricity, or heating.

The story, which made waves around the world, raised awareness of the intense distress prevailing in Morocco.

A social activist named Muhammad Sargein, who posted on Facebook, described the life of the family of seven, who live in a cave in the heart of the Midlet Mountains, without any modern means, and of course without schools for the children.

""Why are we Moroccans waiting for a disaster to happen? We should support life before something happens," Sergein wrote.

The publication, which attracted global interest, led many social activists and 'ordinary' citizens from around the world to mobilize and help the family.

The amount collected allowed local activists to purchase an apartment for the family, and the family had difficulty believing that they would actually live in a four-walled building connected to electricity and water.
