The special website set up by the Ministry of the Interior for the local elections crashed on the night of the results - causing great disappointment among users.

According to a report by Uria Elkayim in Kan, the special website cost the Interior Ministry about 326,000 shekels. More than half of the amount was paid for the licenses to operate the website and for a website that will present the results to the public, while the development costs, which included consulting hours from the company Systematics, are estimated at about 150,000 shekels.

The website was established to allow the public to be updated in real time on the election results, but at 10:00 PM, when the ballots were counted, it crashed.

According to the report, the Interior Ministry is currently conducting a thorough examination of how the system went wrong at the very moment of truth, and they note that they intend to use the designated website in the second round of the elections, which will take place next week.

The ministry also says that Interior Minister Aryeh Deri demanded that Esri, which is responsible for operating the site, complete the tests as soon as possible so that it is ready for the second round.
