A father and three children, residents of Beitar Illit, who went for a walk in the Darga Stream, but did not leave it until dark, were located by the police helicopter in the stream.

Teams from the unit arrived and provided initial medical care, which mainly included warming everyone up.

The rescue teams and the family make their way out of the stream on foot.

Previously, about 25 volunteers from the Megilot Rescue Unit of the Shi'a District tried to locate the family in a stream located in the northern Judean Desert.

The police helicopter conducted aerial scans of the stream, and as mentioned, was able to locate the family members.

The rescue unit said during the search that "there is concern for the family's safety in light of the cold in the area at this time combined with the large amount of water in the stream.".

The police said: "The police hotline received a report about a family, a father and his three children, residents of Beitar Illit, who were walking in the Darga Stream in the morning hours and have not yet left the stream, and at this stage there is no contact with them.".

""Police forces and volunteers from the police scroll rescue unit have begun operations to locate the family.".

Nahal Darga was recently opened to hikers after floods washed away the banks.

The temperatures in the backs are very low and there is a fear that they will cause hypothermia.
