The shocking life story of the late Esti Weinstein, a former Gur Hasidic whose body was found inside her car near the beach in Ashdod, stirred the Israeli public this summer.
Weinstein's daughter now claims that she received a message stating that her late mother's email account had been hacked, and she fears that their sensitive correspondence will be leaked.
According to a report on Hadashot 2, Tammy Montag, Weinstein's daughter who was also questioned, received an indirect contact a few days ago through a relative - who informed him that an ultra-Orthodox guy had written to him: "I hacked into his account.".
According to the threatening message received, the Haredi, who did not identify himself, retrieved the private correspondence between the late Weinstein and her daughter Tami from the email account.
Montag filed a complaint at the Dan police station - and an investigation will soon be opened.
According to Montag's associates, following the information, "she found herself in a difficult mental state," and fears that the information will be disseminated to ultra-Orthodox elements.
At this point, Montag and her entourage do not know whether this is a suspect who acted as a lone wolf or on behalf of others.
Lawyer Daniel Hakkali, who represents Weinstein's daughter, said in response: "This is a brave and necessary step by a young and intelligent girl who is not willing to hold back on such a blatant intrusion into the most private and intimate place in both her late mother's life and her own. It is difficult to describe the intensity of the harm and the intensity of the intrusion and invasiveness inherent in this act.".
""Hacking the email account of a peaceful woman who has suffered deeply in her life, combined with intrusion into her daughter's most intimate correspondence - this is an extremely serious combination.".
""We hope that the Israel Police will handle matters quickly and efficiently. And most of all, we hope that the person (or persons) responsible for this act will be brought to justice and punished.".
