Educational politics: Education Minister Shai Piron announced this morning (Thursday) that students must be educated about the values of the complete Land of Israel.
During a conference at Ariel University, which deals with Judea and Samaria studies, Piron said: "The Land of Israel without Hebron, without Tel Aviv, Degania, Nablus, Ofakim and Kiryat Shmona, is not complete.".
Piron did say that "there is no peace without concessions, but until then we must not reduce the entire Land of Israel." Piron added: "It is impossible to continue to agree with the narrowing and curtailment of a great vision.
""All of this forces a return to a different discourse. One that seeks to connect different parts, one that connects the center to the periphery. One that has a meeting of cultures of Jews from the East and the West. One that sees social solidarity and the love of evil as the foundation, one that has good and corrected virtues, one that has a public education system that includes everyone. The complete Land of Israel must bring all of these to expression.".
The remarks are surprising, especially in light of the comments made by his party chairman Yair Lapid, who on Monday presented his political plan at a Herzliya conference that includes the evacuation of settlements, and even declared that "if even one settlement is annexed, Yesh Atid will immediately withdraw from the government and even overthrow it.".
