Hate crime: Unknown individuals vandalized a memorial monument in memory of a terrorist murdered, located on Ma'ale Hebron Street in the Old City of Jerusalem.
The tombstone, which commemorates Eliyahu Amadi, the 14th, who was murdered on Cheshvan 24, 1987, on Ma'ale Hebron Street, was vandalized after unknown individuals sprayed the inscription on it with black spray paint, and even tried to smash the stones.
Jerusalem City Council member Aryeh King, who also serves as chairman of the Committee to Commemorate Terror Victims in Jerusalem, contacted the director of the Shefa Department, requesting that municipal workers arrive at the site as soon as possible to clean the tombstone and renovate it.
In a statement issued by King, the reporter said: "I wonder if the news broadcasts on television channels tonight will open the broadcast with media coverage that will include a broadcast from the field (see case: Forhadis/Tuba Dangaria/Abu Ghosh and more) while interviewing the Amid family and local public representatives?
""Will the Jerusalem Police rush to issue a statement to the media regarding the 'hate crime' that was committed under the nose of the Jerusalem Police, despite the hundreds of cameras that record every meter in the alleys of the Old City? Are we expecting flash arrests at the nearby Al-Quds College (150 meters from the tomb)?"'
King called on council members to join in condemning the hate crime.
