A TGI survey that examined trends in the print press and radio, and was published yesterday (Monday), revealed that ultra-Orthodox radio stations are weakening.
Analysis of the results showed that all Haredi radio stations are recording a decline, but 'Kol Chai' radio still leads in first place with 5.4 percent of listeners. It is followed by 'Kol Barama' radio in second place with 4.21 percent.
However, when digging through the multitude of data and numbers - which came into the hands of Haredim 10 - one discovers that several broadcasters from the 'Kol Berama' station have reasons to smile broadly.
For example, with their program "Straight to the point," Uncle Schwamenfeld and Vicki Adamker are overtaking the veteran and popular broadcaster Moti Lavi, who is broadcasting the second hour of his program on "Kol Hai" opposite them. According to the data, the two are also beating the hour itself, and even recording another achievement: overtaking the afternoon program of the Kol Barama station.
The battle for the afternoon hours - from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM - also ends with a victory for a top-notch voice: Ami Maimon, host of the popular program "Hidodon," wins over broadcaster Menachem Toker, who broadcasts live on Kol Hai.
Even in the hours broadcast later, Amiram Ben Lulu with "The Wanted" and Yossi Gil with "Songs of Songs" have an advantage over their live competitors.
On the other hand, on the other side of the scale: Avi Mimran maintains the advantage of the 'Kol Hai' station in the prime time of the main edition, which is broadcast opposite Moshe Glasner's on 'Kol Berama' - but the gap is narrowing.
Mimran's edition drops from 1.9% to 1.55 in the first hour, and gets 1.48 in the second hour. Glasner's edition, which suffers from the boycott announced by Shas on the 'Kol Brama' station, rises from 1.04% to 1.21 in the first hour and gets 1.19 in the second hour.
more Moshe Yitzhak Osditscher and journalist Benny Rabinowitz, which serves at 8:00 a.m. on Friday mornings,'Closing the week on Kol Chai, they recorded a nice increase, despite the hour considered particularly difficult. "We went from 40,000 to 48,500 listeners," says attorney Moshe Yitzhak Osditscher to Haredim 10. "There is no other program at such a difficult hour, and especially with such a high percentage of listeners.".
Journalist Benny Rabinowitz: "The program that I conceived and initiated several years ago is indeed a resounding success by any measure, and this stems from the fact that I chose to deal with current issues, political, diplomatic, religious and state, and also with what was happening within the public and internal Haredi politics during the week, and to give them an angle and perspective that they would not hear on regular news broadcasts.".
""The program has extensive reference and emphasis on the classical Torah view on sensitive and delicate issues, between right and left, between Haredi and non-Haredi, between Haredi and secular, which are hardly expressed on any other program. Many of the listeners wait for Friday morning, and form their opinions on all these issues based on what they listened to during the hour.".
""Another interesting aspect is that the program plays songs exclusively from the inexhaustible treasure trove, from the wonderful treasure trove of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, rare and special recordings, and many are waiting to listen to these songs. This entire fascinating combination has managed to bring the program to a consistent climb throughout the years, and of course, despite the difficult hour, which was usually devoid of listeners, I managed to break through the glass wall and reach a listening session that is right up there with the top of the most listened to programs on Haredi radio stations.".
""It brings me joy and satisfaction, for the great investment in formulating the content, literally reaching the point where you succeeded - believe me.".
And there is also a surprise on Shabbat night: The Gram Mazuz, Rosh Yeshivah Kesah Rachamim, whose weekly class is broadcast on Kol Rama (starting at 9:00 PM), is outstripping the equivalent class of the Rashaltz, the Gram Yosef, which is broadcast on Kol Chai radio.
Menachem Toker also suffers a hard blow on Saturday night: his program, which airs at 11:00 PM, suffers embarrassing percentage drops, while the parallel program 'Shuva Tov' with Amiram Ben Lulu in a high-quality voice records double the result.
