Soul artist Avrimi Roth launches the single "Zimmor LeDavid" from the production house of Rabbi Ben Zion Shenkar in honor of Shavuot and the anniversary of the passing of King David.
And no, this is not Shenkar's familiar "Zimmor LeDavid." It is a lesser-known tune that was released in the past, but was not published or well-established enough, and now Abrimi presents it in a thrilling performance.
Srulik Hershtik played the song to Avrimi, and together they came up with the idea to re-record it. The two's blessed collaboration gave birth to the new and special performance, which will soon be released in a video clip, produced by director Yoni Tzur.
Abrimi Roth: "The popular hymn to David by Rabbi Ben-Zion Shenkar is known to everyone, but there is another melody by Shenkar that is less well-known and it burned in my soul, and I felt the need to perform it not for an album, but simply for myself, for my soul. It literally moves me.".
Producer Yohai Kfir says about the song and Roth: "For the first time in a while, Avrimy Roth proves that being a singer is not just about knowing how to sing, but a 'full envelope' of pure pleasure.".
The single can be purchased online through iTunes and Mostly Music.

Words:
A Psalm of David. O Lord, I will not lack my friend.,
In the green pastures, may he lead me, over the waters of offerings,
My soul will wander, he will guide me in the circles of righteousness for his name's sake,
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.,
Your tribe and your support will comfort me,
Prepare before the altar against the tummies, anoint with oil the heads of the cups of rich wine,
But goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
