A 22-year-old Abrech who works as a teacher at the Wiznitz Military Academy in Ashdod was arrested yesterday at a recruitment office in Beersheba. This morning he was released to his home.

The young man who did not report on the date specified in the draft order was sentenced yesterday to 14 days in detention, for 'evading military service.' This morning (Tuesday), in a conversation with an officer, he expressed his willingness to enlist in the IDF, and his sentence was reduced to a month of suspended imprisonment, along with his commitment to report to the draft base in about a month.

The avrach returned to his family this morning and informed the gabbai of his rabbi, the Rebbe of Mojznitz, about the unexpected release.

Where will the young man serve? It has not yet been determined. The assessment is that the IDF will grant the young man shortened service or exemption from service, due to his being the father of three children – a status that requires the IDF to provide high service conditions and a salary of thousands of shekels per month.
