Last night it happened again. Several months after inaugurating the 'Segula' show at the Binyanei Ha'uma in Jerusalem, Ohad Moshkowitz returned from a tour of performances abroad and took the stage again, again in Jerusalem, and this time in a special performance to benefit the 'Toldot Nissim' institutions. One after another, the best artists participating in the show took the stage, each giving their part to the wonderful evening, all accompanied by an extended symphonic ensemble conducted by Maestro Gershon Freisht. The show opened with a virtuoso piece by the Irish Jewish violinist Daniel Ahbiel, who mesmerized everyone present with a string of Hasidic and folk tunes that came together to form one unique musical work. He touched every ear as only he knows how to do. For the next section, he was joined by his musical ‘mentor,’ Itzik Dadia, and together they gave their version of Ivy Rothenberg’s beautiful melody with the words ”Look from heaven and see,‘ how appropriate these words are for the difficult times the people of Israel are going through. Then it was time for the main course: To the applause of those present, the great Hasidic singer Ohad Moshkowitz took to the stage, and in a joint duet with Itzik Dadia, they performed ’Adatanya" – the special version of the two great hits of the great composer Yossi Green, "Tanya" and "Adaraba". Ohad’s powerful tenor voice, together with Itzik’s vocal abilities, produced a special and moving creation. Immediately after them, the band "Kinderlach" performed and thrilled the audience with a string of cheerful songs. The special evening was honored with the presence of the Rabba Rabbi David Hananiah Pinto. Shlita came to offer his blessings to the supporters of the 'Toldot Nissim' institutions headed by Rabbi Ariel Bejaoui Shlita. The Mayor of Jerusalem also sent his blessings through his deputy, Rabbi Zvika Cohen, as well as the CEO of the El HaMa'ayan movement, Rabbi Chaim Biton, who also mentioned the magnificent activities of the institutions. And as soon as the blessings ended, Ohad Moshkowitz returned to the stage and performed, together with the wonderful orchestra, the best hits from the album 'Segula', with the highlight, of course, being a joint duet by all the artists to Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz's wonderful song 'Why', which Ohad dedicated to the victims of the fatal car accident that occurred this week and to all the victims of terrorism in recent times.
