Nadav Eyal: Accidents? Double the budget for yeshivas. But I'm not bashing Haredim

Journalist Nadav Eyal from News 10 referred to an accident in which 6 people were killed in an accident "on the main highway that connects the capital of Israel with Tel Aviv" - and mentioned: "In the 2015 budget, NIS 985 million was allocated for yeshivas. The traffic police budget was cut by 70 percent." • And what was his response to the claims that the post was intended to bash the Haredim?

העיתונאי נדב איל מחדשות 10 כבר מצא, כנראה, את האשם בתאונה הקטלנית בקו 402, בה קיפחו את חייהם שישה בני אדם. בפוסט שפרסם איל  בדף הפייסבוק שלו, תחת הכותרת 'הנה קצת נתונים שמבהירים מהי מדינת ישראל ב-2016', הוא כתב: • 6 בני אדם נהרגו אתמול בתאונה בכביש הראשי שמחבר את בירת ישראל עם תל אביב. • בשנת 2009 היו 309 ניידות משטרת תנועה. היום יש 113. • תקציב משטרת התנועה קוצץ ב-70 אחוזים- מ-100 מיליון ש"ח ל-32 מיליון ש"ח (הנתונים מטורו של בן כספית היום). • בתקציב 2015 הוקצבו 985 מיליון ש"ח לישיבות. זה כפול, דהיינו כ-100 אחוז תוספת, אל מול 2014. • כל סיעה חברה בקואליציה הנוכחית קיבלה למעלה מ-100 מיליון ש"ח "לחלק" ל"מטרות חינוכיות" ו"יעדים ומיזמים". אף אחד מהם לא היה משטרת התנועה. את הפוסט הוא סיכם: "טוב. נפגעי תאונות הדרכים לא יפילו את הממשלה; הם רק אזרחים רגילים".
Following the comments that the post was anti-Haredi, Eyal wrote: "I see that there are comments here as if this post is intended to bash the Haredi or something. There is no limit to shallowness and demagogy. I brought two examples (meetings and factional funds) that illustrate priorities. If funds are significantly expanded for certain purposes and others are cut - those are priorities. What is important to the government - and what is less. Much less. In response to the topic itself, one of the users wrote to El: "I suggest you be a serious journalist and bring data on fatalities or accidents from 2009 compared to the last year, otherwise - the accumulation of these sporadic facts will not prove anything. ""If there is no proven increase in traffic accidents, what you are saying is nonsense. Really prove that there is an increase in accidents. Accidents are also caused by infrastructure and not just mobility. And by the way, they are sometimes caused by human error or negligence or drunk driving.". ""Is it the government's fault too? Bringing about 6 deaths (even though it's a terrible and shocking case) - doesn't prove anything, it's mostly cheap and pretty weak demagogy.".
