Nehemiah Indorsky, a student at the Belza Yeshiva, found 130,000 shekels at a bus stop and waited patiently for the thief to return and take his money. The thief: Until the moment I finished counting, I couldn't believe it was mine. I "was" so anti-Haredi, but that's it.

The following story found its way onto social media, and it can teach us about the behavior of someone who sees the commandments of the Torah as the only values that guide their lives.

Here is the story from the perpetrator's perspective, as published on 'Pashfshuk' on Facebook:

""Yesterday I forgot a bag containing 130,000 NIS in cash near a bus stop in Haifa.

I came back after about half an hour, completely sleepwalking, wondering if I could still find the money. The guy in the picture was sitting there and asked me if he could help me. I told him the story - and he told me this: 'I got here 25 minutes ago and saw the bag. I opened it and I saw a considerable amount of money. I told myself that I would wait here for fifteen minutes and if the man didn't come, I would leave a note with a cell phone number to reach me.

'"Fifteen minutes passed and no one arrived. I said to myself: It's not good if I leave, because maybe he'll arrive in the next fifteen minutes and I live in Jerusalem, and maybe he needs the money urgently. I said a chapter of Psalms for the success of the lost one to come quickly, and less than 10 minutes passed and you're here now. Just give me signs that it's yours and I'll run to prayer.".

I gave him a few signs and he handed me the money without missing a single bill!

Until the moment I finished counting, I didn't believe that it was mine and that I would find it at all (I "was" so anti-Haredi, but that's it). I wanted to give him a nice sum, but he absolutely didn't want to accept it. He said it was his mitzvah. I couldn't leave him, at least until he took a picture with me.

Please share this precious man's great deed, in the great hope that he will see the post and understand what a great deed he did. Thank you.""

The direct descendant is Nehemiah Indorsky, a 19.5-year-old Belza Hasid, who studies at the 'Kedushat Aharon' yeshiva of Belza Hasidism.

Today (Sunday), Indorsky was interviewed on Kol Hai radio and admitted that the large sum did put him to the test, but he decided to fulfill the commandment of "Shabbat-Avidah.".

He said that when he saw the money, thoughts crossed his mind about what he could do with the money, such as giving tithes, etc., but then he told himself that it was money that did not belong to him and that its owners needed it. He decided to wait fifteen minutes, but then he decided that he would wait longer: "I said, Lord of the universe, I have passed the test, now you need to do yours and send it.".

He waited another ten minutes, and noticed a man running. He offered him help, and the man replied that he did not need help. He tried to ask again, but the man, who was stressed, only replied that he had lost his bag and was not happy to cooperate.

Nehemiah said to him: I found something, can you give me some clues? The man replied that the bag was black, with three zippers, etc., and he returned the lost item to him.

The man couldn't believe his eyes, and counted the money. When he finished, it looked like he was about to burst into tears, and he hugged Nehemiah, who only told him that he was in a hurry to pray. The man offered him a handsome sum, but he refused. Finally, after much pleading, he agreed to have his picture taken with him.
