President Reuven Rivlin called Beit Shemesh Mayor Moshe Aboutbol this morning (Friday) to console him on the death of his four-month-old infant grandson, the late Moshe Rafael Mizrahi.
""Dear Grandpa," the president said. "I want to express my condolences.".
Referring to the suspicion against the nanny and the stormy demonstrations yesterday in protest of the court's order to dissect the baby's body, the President said: "I hope that the matter will be resolved and exhausted and that you will not know fear and pain anymore.
""There is no doubt that the public's pain makes things unbearable in a situation where things are already difficult. I hug you and strengthen you with a prayer that the entire family will recover and find comfort.".
Late last night - after a day of legal battles and stormy demonstrations - the baby's funeral took place at the Givat Shaul funeral home in Jerusalem. The mayor said in his eulogy: "May God help and hear all prayers. He ascends to heaven with thousands of rights.".
