A 24-year-old woman, who was declared dead about ten years ago, was found safe and sound, after it turned out that she had been living in stores... and an Internet cafe for all those years.
Xiu Yun was born in Jiang Province in eastern China, and when she was 14, she had a fight with her parents. She ran away from home, and her parents, who launched an extensive search, concluded with the local police that their poor child was probably dead.
But a few days ago, on November 20th, Shiu was discovered in a shop offering coffee and Internet services, with fake IDs in her hands.
The young woman was taken in for questioning, during which it became shockingly clear that her excessive love of computer games had driven her to wander, and in effect, live in online stores in eastern China.
The young woman lived off of handouts from customers and often worked as a cashier in stores. She spent her free time playing computer games, while at night she slept in the store.
The happy parents received the news that their slightly deformed daughter was found alive and well, and promised that they would never fight with her again. That was all they needed.
