An unusual incident occurred tonight (Tuesday) in the Knesset plenum: MK Oren Hazan from the Likud mocked the disability of MK Karin Elharar from the Yesh Atid faction.
During the votes on the second and third reading of the draft law amendment, a cantor shouted at Elharar: "Do you need Issawi to help you?""
Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid approached Knesset Speaker Yuli Aldstein immediately after the results were announced, demanding that he remove Hazan from the plenum.

In the conversation, Lapid said: "Yuli, one MK is sitting here, consistently mocking the disability of another MK. Can't you not do something about it? He's sitting there laughing at her.".
Edelstein replied: "You know I have a problem with him.".
Lapid continued: "A complaint will be filed, but he needs to be thrown out of here. I didn't want to do anything about it so they wouldn't say I was taking advantage of the equal burden. I waited until after the vote, throw him out of the hall.".
Lapid continued to urge Edelstein to act: "Yuli, you are the chairman, who do I turn to? Who do I turn to? You are the chairman.".
At this point, Oren Hazan approached Lapid and called out to him: "Yahir, Yahir, do you have a problem with me?".
Lapid responded: "Stay away from me, you piece of nothing.".
Hazan, for his part, tweeted tonight on his Twitter account: "Lapid and Booji are competing in crying. An arrogant man whose nightly defeats are not doing him any good, ran to cry about me to the Knesset Speaker: 'Get him out..get him out..', does anyone have a tissue?""
Hazan's harassment of Elharar, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, began during the vote on the state budget, when she asked Knesset member Isawi Freij of Meretz, who was sitting next to her, to press the voting button for her on several occasions. Hazan caused a commotion and claimed that these were "double votes" - until the Knesset Speaker intervened and approved it.
This morning (Tuesday), a cantor responded to the storm on the Galatians: "I did not laugh at MK Elharar. If MK Elharar was offended by me, then I apologize to her, but she is not the conversation - I am not talking about her.
""An Arab MK from Meretz voted twice, and the entire left is standing on its hind legs, taking advantage of the cynical and painful exploitation of MK Elharar, in order to cover up a criminal offense committed on voting night.".
Hazan added that he promotes and helps the disabled. "I have a high percentage of disabled people in my family, it's not personal at all. I didn't talk about MK Karin Elharar and I'm not talking about her now either.".
