A life-size cake of Prince George won first place in the UK in an amateur pastry competition.
Prince George, born on July 22, 2013, is the eldest son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge William and Catherine, great-granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, and may in fact one day be King of England.
Cake creator Lara Mason worked for about 30 hours on the cake, which depicts the prince wearing red pants and a white shirt – clothes that the prince wore at one of the last events he attended with his parents.
The cake's skeleton is, of course, made of dough, but Mason used blocks of chocolate to decorate the interior.
Mason says that last year she made cakes of larger figures, but the judges claimed that because the cakes were so large they were lacking, especially in the head area. So this year she decided to focus on a smaller figure, and there is no better fit for that than the beloved Prince George.
The cake was displayed in the city of Birmingham at an international cake and pastry festival.
